Sri Lanka is in third place, South Africa at 4th, India at 5th place in the table, and has played the maximum number of 11 matches. New Zealand is on 6th, Bangladesh is on 7th, West Indies is on 8th and England is on 9th.
AUSTRALIA
Australia is number one right now and they have a left lot of series left. Australia currently has three matches at home against South Africa and two matches against West Indies. There are also 2 matches left to play in the ongoing 3-match series with Pakistan. There can be a lot of ups and downs in Australia's Current Position.
INDIA
India is yet to play 4 matches against Australia at home and 1 match is yet to be played against Sri Lanka in the ongoing series. India's point percentage can be better only if India beats Australia in 4 out of 4 matches. Apart from this, India has to play 2 matches outside India with Bangladesh and one match between India and England. India's survival in the final can be very difficult right now.
PAKISTAN
Pakistan has to have a series with strong teams like Australia, New Zealand, and England. The advantage for Pakistan is that all these series have to be done at home. If Pakistan does well then these three series can be easily captured. Apart from this, Pakistan has yet to play a series of 2 matches from Sri Lanka outside the home whichever Pakistan can easily win. Pakistan is in a very strong position at this time, it may be that they can make it to the finals this time.
NEW ZEALAND
If we talk about New Zealand, now only 2 Test matches are left in their home, which they have to play against Sri Lanka. They have 2 series away from home in which they have to play 2 Tests against Pakistan and 3 Tests against England. As difficult as the series away from home is for New Zealand, it does not seem that this time New Zealand can make it to the final.
SOUTH AFRICA
